Stream Tiga's latest 6 Music show

"Let's try some atonal mixing.. It takes a real man to mix out of key"

As usual, Tiga's 2 hour BBC 6 music mix is pretty banging. Sadly, Tiga resolves to talk less this show, although the letter he reads from his future self gets pretty deep. Most importantly the tunes remain whopper. Tracks from Justice, Duke Dumont (including an excellent Tiga remix of 'The Giver'), Four Tet, Daniel Avery, Hot Chip, that awesome Talabot / Pional remix of Chained by The XX, and as usual some great tracks by artists I've never heard of before. Of particular note is the track 'De La Cabeza' by DJs Pareja on the Comeme label at around the 1'05" mark.

Swooner Movie Nights: Ivory Tower

Swooner just had its first movie night in association with Portobello Picturehouse. We showed 'Ivory Tower' - a bizarre comedy about chess written by and starring Tiga and Chilly Gonzales. It is about as ridiculous as it sounds, with amazing Chilly Choons throughout. Chilly Gonzales: mini-mix and movie

Chilly Gonzales made a sweet mini-mix called Pianist Envy. If you sign up to his mailing list you can download it. Fair swap! Quality hip hop and Chilly piano / soundbites, not to mention a very motivational quote from the lesser known Rocky VI (a.k.a.Rocky Balboa), so it has my attention. My friend Zonja and I watched it and laughed our asses off. It's a pretty bizarre flick, but if you like Chilly or Tiga or Peaches, or chess, or the concept of jazz chess, or chess puns, or any combination of the above, or are even just quite drunk on a Saturday night, give it a go. And it's got Chilly's tunes throughout, so that's a winner. Chess we can!

Tiga's latest 6 mix if you didn't catch it on listen again. A load of whopper, mostly banging* tunes, including Tiga's new track 'The Picture' (out this week on Crosstown Rebels, his take on 'When Doves Cry') and tunes from Matthew Dear, Conrad Black and his old pal ZZT. But who am I kidding, I listen to these shows mostly because Tiga is so dreamy and hilarious and deadpan and his voice somehow calms and reassures me. This time he gets political with some propaganda as he runs for DJ of the Year 2012:
