Chic: live at Lovebox, London, Summer 2013

Photo from here

I have been lucky enough to see Chic live a few times, most recently this summer. I'm up there somewhere! However, this live set below is from London - happy vibes - at times you can hear the crowd going bananas and I can't help but remember the live show and get back into the buzz. Nile Rodgers, you ledge. Love the way he always reminds everyone that HE WROTE ALL THE SONGS EVER.

Nile Rodgers' Red Bull Fireside Chat radio show

So there's a lot of Nile Rodgers buzz going around due to the current Daft Punk mania, but let's get one thing straight: the man was being a total ledge well before Daft Punk ever got their shiny robot mitts on him:

There is also a one hour BBC documentary about Nile called "The Hit Maker" I posted about a good while ago, check it out here. And if that's not enough for you, I'd also recommend reading his autobiography 'Le Freak' - although he is so sound he never really dishes as much dirt as I'd like him too, considering what he must have seen and gotten up to himself.

Nile plays with Chic on the Sunday of Forbidden Fruit - get tickets here.

I've posted other similarly sweet Red Bull radio shows where artists talk about their influences and careers, check out shows by Chromeo, Mayer Hawthorne, Holy Ghost!, Kim Ann Foxman, Breakbot or The Rapture.
