Hawthorne Radio - Episode 22

I'm only just catching up on the Mayer Hawthorne Radio shows now. A seriously eclectic mix every time, the kind of radio I love, you never know what you are going to get and he throws in his own stuff as well.  This is a great one, he is playing the name game and every tune's title is a person's name.  I am very fond of themed shows like this as I know how much effort goes into putting them together!

Check out previous episodes at soundcloud.com/mayerhawthorne, I'd recommend starting with episode 14.

Mayer Hawthorne live on KCRW

Excellent live performance by LA based Swoon Merchant Mayer Hawthorne on Morning Becomes Eclectic, a show on KCRW hosted by Jason Bentley. Includes his new single 'Love Like That' (at 5'30")- which is catchy as, and one of my faves, Designer Drug. There's a great lil interview too where he talks about  his new album Man About Town and is generally just a charm assassin. I really wish he would come to play in Dublin!

(He talks about food in the interview a bit - you should check out his Instagram account: instagram.com/mayerhawthorne if you are into that kind of vibe.)

Bookie Bruschetta Beats - Live hip hop mix by Mayer Hawthorne

Quality hip hop mix from Mayer Hawthorne for a Wednesday morning. "Recorded live from the Vans x Jon & Vinny's Kitchen Shoe release party in Los Angeles" - That is all.

I lied. I'm also going to link to Mayer Hawthorne's Fireside Chat - if you haven't listened to it I'd highly recommend it.

Stream Mayer Hawthorne's new album 'Where Does This Door Go?'

You can stream Mayer Hawthorne's new album 'Where Does This Door Go?' on NPR all week. It's out on July 16th. It sounds great, smooth and soulful. Although I'm really not sure about that cover artwork. It in no way reflects the upbeat and gorgeous tones of the record. Why so serious Mayer?!

I've posted a Red Bull Radio Show where Mayer talks about his early career and life and musical inspirations, it's brilliant - check it out here.

I also put up a link to a free download of his track 'Designer Drug' - check that out here.

Mayer Hawthorne 'Designer Drug' - free download

Free download of Mayer Hawthorne's track 'Designer Drug' - some sweet grooves wherein he lists all the designer drugs he's taken that don't have a patch on his lady friend. But he sings it in a pleasing soul manner so no one gets mad at him for being a total drug fiend:

If you are feeling the soul buzz but you missed Mayer Hawthorne's Red Bull show I posted previously, check it out here, it's quality.
