Vacationland #23: Colour Science

A new dreamy Vacationland mix! I feel a little mental listening to its summery vibes while we are in the depths of winter, but I guess it can't hurt. This has some Back To The Future AND some Phil Collins vibes in there too so you know it's good. Although I know someone who might disagree about that second part.

VACATIONLAND IS BACK!

Hurrah! The amazing mix series is back after a hiatus of a few months - and not only that, it has returned with none other than a Bill Murray inspired set of mixtapes. It's like when 2 of your favourite pals meet up and then become better friends with each other than they are with you. But in a good way!



I've been repeat watching Broad City and Bored To Death of late so it's quality to hear some familiar soundbites in there.

Vacationland mix #22: Beach Week

Been waiting a little bit for this latest Vacationland mix. Coming regularly out of Brooklyn, this series has been a consistent pleasure. Always a great, happy mix with movie or tv quotes throughout and an eclectic selection of tracks new and old each episode. Vacationland mix #21: Fitness!

Another sweet Vacationland mix, this one is hella dreamy. I've just listened to it twice in a row and have decided it's definitely my favourite of the series so far. And not just because I can hear Keanu AND Michael J. Fox AND some True Detective in there. It includes 'Selfish' by Tensnake, what a tune, and one of my favourite songs in the whole world, 'Train In Vain' by The Clash. Amazing. Keeping up the excellent work, kudos Vacationland!

Vacationland mix #20: Ass Jazz

Was a little concerned when I saw the word Jazz in the title of Vacationland's latest mix. However it turns out Ass Jazz is different to regular jazz, thankfully! (No offence to any jazz fascists out there!) Another lovely mix from Vacationland, this one starts out quite dreamy and chilled then gets into some deadly tracks, including a quality edit of 'Bossy' by Kelis I hadn't heard before and even some of my favourite, Sade! Nice!

Vacationland mix #18: Night Shift

The latest Vacationland mix. Lovely dreamy tunes to cure what ails you of a Monday bank holiday, upbeat happy beats. Still loving these guys' vibe. These mixtapes are a little different, with great artwork and quality tunes. Oh, and this one even has some Louis C.K and Top Gun quotes, not to mention the new Chromeo track 'Over Your Shoulder' in it, so you know it's good.

Vacationland mix #12: Neon Dreams

After just checking out the Vacationland series for the first time last week, lo and behold there is a new one out. Sweet! Has a little more R'n'B vibe this time to start, which is a great thing, then heads into some more dancey tracks, with soundbites from quality movies throughout. Pretty sure I heard Ted "Theodore" Logan (Keanu) from Bill & Ted being very philosophical, and some Bill Murray from In Lost In Translation among others. And it has some Cut Copy! Again, anyone who likes the Flight Facilities decades mixes should dig this. Quality artwork as well.
