Gay Traitor: Traitorous Disco Volume 2

Well, this is a welcome collection of sounds, volume 2 of Gay Traitor's disco series only 2 weeks after Volume 1! Another great mix full of nice grooves, edits and chilled disco vibes. A very promising series!

Jackson And His Computerband live at La Route Du Rock Festival

Watch Jackson And His Computerband perform Arp#1 - this happened last Saturday night at Route De Rock Festival. Amazing, and pretty banging to say the least. Throw him on the must see live pile! If you haven't checked out the album 'Glow' you should do so tout de suite!

Also, if you are into the whole musical dreamboat lashing out the tunes while having the time of their life thing, you should check out this live performance of Jon Hopkins from Skif Festival a few years ago. It's a full show, a little darker and experimental, but just as mesmerising and deadly.

Gay Traitor: Traitorous Disco Volume 1

DISCO anyone? Dublin Aunts posted this so I gave it a listen and enjoyed its pure disco vibes. SO, yoink! Loads of great tunes, (You Are My Melody, Upside Down, Nights Over Egypt, Love Thang, And The Beat Goes On etc) although I'm not sure who any of the edits are by! Particularly interested in the edit of 'Stand On The Word' that hits about 23 mins. Hopefully this is volume 1 of many from Liverpool's John McCready (aka Gay Traitor).

The Revenge Love Story

The Revenge and Roar Groove have started a mix tape series together. Literally, they are going to be making one actual tape of each mix that they will give away. Which is pretty sweet although I'm not sure where I'd find a cassette player if I won. Anyway, lucky for us it also comes in modern mp3 form. This first mix in the series is in 2 parts, it's all funk and soul and love, just in time for Valentine's I guess. It's pretty dreamy with tunes from James Brown, Curtis Mayfield, Patrice Rushen, The Pointer Sisters, Frankie Beverly and Evelyn King among others and you can download it for free here. *

White Light Mix #94 - Falcon Punch

Need to check out more of the White Light Mixes.  I listened to this one because of the Cosmic Kids, Mylo and LCD in the tracklist, and I stayed for all the other tunes. It's REALLY good. Unexpected deep but very chilled vibes in there. The beginning reminds me of Tosca and then the tunes get all sorts of cool. It really make me want to go for a night drive. Which is the point I guess.
